Dear,

I recently installed a ser485/DMX controller to drive a RGBW LEDstrip (5m), it is installed according the drawing provided over here.
I'm using LTECH 4 channel decoder (DIN RAIL) https://ltech-led.eu/en/dmx-pwm-cv-conv ... -4x4a.html
Power supply of 100W is used to power the decoder (16,7W/m ledstrip specs x 5m x 110% for safety)
The Ltech has a test setup to show different colors over the LEDstrip, which was working LEDstrip is changing colors perfect.
Hence I concluded that the wiring and power to the LEDstrip is OK.

DMX adress on the decoder was set to 1.
A terminator resistance of 120Ohm was added to the DMX line.

The DMX controller was programmed according the manual (and youtube video) in the system manager.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DmpH8LlnyVs
LEDTRIP has sart adress 1 and has 4 channels, same as in the video.

However once I activate (turn on) the LED in the Qbuscloud all 4 channels are fully sending (so all colors are simultaneously illuminated.)
If I disconnect a channel the according color goes off(Remove channel1 from decoder - RED goes out, channel2 - Green, ....)
LEDstrip can't be put to off in the cloud, colors cant be changed, the color wheel is unresponsive.

Furthermore, when doing the TEST in the system manager no response on any channel of the decoder.

I could also experience random switching on of all channels of the decoder.

- I tested with different adress settings of the DMX decoder & programming, no resolution
- Removed the terminator resistance, no resolution
- I did notice that when I sended my program to the CDTcontroller a CRC16 error from time to time indicating that the DMX module isn't found.

After trying againg this will be resolved:

- CTD & SER485/DMX decoder have latest firmware / System manager is latest revision.

Any suggestions on how to resolve?
Thanks for the support.
Bert

Dear Bert,

According to the screenshots and your explenation this should work.
Maybe one more test to execute, can you invers the wires connected to A & B on our module? This ussually solves the problem.

Kind regards,
Koen

And with this simple answer all problems are resolved.
Nice!
Thx for the support, Bert

edit: Same goes for my apien weather station. I was struggeling to communicate with the APIEN (for quite some time) as well. Since these modules are rather identical, I tested this also and swapped the 2 wires on the module and got it up and running. Lovely!

Dear Koen,
While programming I came into another issue/question;
I wanted to limit the MAX dim on these RGB+ outputs, (this to protect my power supply and also 100% is way to bright.)

However I noticed that this isn't possible with the RGB+ outputs:

Where in normal dimmers this is possible:

Is there another way to limit the RGB+ output %?
Or is this something that need to be added into a firmware update, and if so, can this be done in the near future  ?

Thanks in advance.

For the moment this is not posible, but i will forward this question to our developpers. I'm sure it will be there in a future release.
